Hi all,
It is actually June 1st here. We had a McDonalds hamburger in memory of Eldon Stokes birthday.
This week we went to the Antique Zone to do apartment checks. It is a
two and one half hour drive to the area but it takes about three hours
to drive from one end of the zone to the other while stopping at
missionary apartments .
We also traded missionaries a couple of times in the process and ended
up taking four Elders back to Iloilo because of a district leader’s
training the next day.
Sister Robinson is able to get a lot of information from the
missionaries as we travel. We find that a good number of missionaries
come from broken homes and (especially filipino missionaries) come from
homes where they are the only member and are not sure if anyone will
celebrate when they get home. It makes me feel sad to think about homes
that are not so happy. We try to help them know that successful , happy
homes can start with them as they choose to live the gospel and create
families of their own.
When Brother Bowen( in area presidency), and Brother Beck (young men
President) were visiting a few months ago, they met with a small group
go missionaries , who live close to the area here, and included a
question/answer session. I was surprised that at least four of the
questions asked, (which was about half of the total questions) had to do
with eternal families and how it related to their personal eternal
family. Brother Bowen gave comforting and encouraging council to the
missionaries. One of the things he said was that when we receive the
ordinances in the temple we are sealed to the family of God and are part
of his eternal family.
It is hard to imagine what it will be like to be part of an eternal
family, with all of our children and grand children being grown up and
having families of their own. What I do know is that we want all of
them,(all of you ) there with us. I am so thankful that all of our
family seems to be on the path that will bring success and happiness as
we are together with our Heavenly Father in his eternal family.
I also hope that we can help missionaries and other’s know that they can
have a great hope in receiving all happiness through Heavenly Father’s
plan no matter what their home situation may appear to be.
I love all of you and I am so thankful for the choices that I have made along the way, in my life.
Remember, that it is His work and His glory to bring to pass the
immortality and eternal life of man. He has provided everything we need
for eternal happiness.
Love, Dad
