Hello family,
2 Ne. 2:27
Wherefore men are free according to the flesh and all things are given
them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty
and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men or to choose
captivity and death according to the captivity and power of the devil;
for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
This scripture reminded me of a quote from Shakespeare that was given
at an Associated Food Stores training several years ago. If I remember
correctly Charity and Andrew were with us and the speaker had us
memorize this and recite it together. It was a fun time and the speaker
was Hyrum Smith.
What win I if I gain the thing I seek?
A dream, a breath, a froth of fleeting joy.
Who buys a minutes mirth to wail a week?
Or sales eternity to get a toy?
For one sweet grape who would the vine destroy?
Or what fond beggar, but to touch the crown,
would with the scepter straight be stricken down?
"What would a man give in exchange for his soul?"
It is a great blessing to have the scriptures and the words of living
prophets to help us remember and understand our purpose and blessings
here in this mortal experience.
I love you all. Have a great week.
