Elder Andrew John Robinson Chillan Zone
Dear Elder Robinson,
We were pleased to extend a call to you to serve as Zone Leader in
the Zone of Chillan. Your call was extended after prayerful
consideration. We commend you for your faithfulness and your loving
service to our Heavenly Father.
As a Zone Leader, you will have the opportunity to increase your
vision of the work our Heavenly Father would have us accomplish. With
that increased vision, you will be able to teach those you have
stewardship over and help them understand the necessity
of faith and works in building the kingdom of God.
As a Zone Leader, you should:
· Set an example for the missionaries in your zone through your
study of the scriptures and the gospel, obedience, hard work,
proselyting skills, and other aspects of missionary work.
· Carry a full proselyting load in your assigned sector and strive to baptize regularly.
· Supervise, teach, and inspire the missionaries during zone meetings and companion exchanges.
· Interview baptismal candidates taught by the District Leaders.
· Look after the well-being of missionaries in your zone, especially the sisters.
· Make sure relationships between elders and sisters are in harmony with gospel teachings and missionary standards.
· Demonstrate effective planning.
· Work with local priesthood leaders and members.
· Follow up with the missionaries on referrals.
· Submit reports accurately and promptly.
Your ability to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and diligent in
your work as a missionary will enable you to encourage, teach and
strengthen those missionaries within your zone. Be an example of all you
would have them do. Be obedient in living the mission
rules and seek the Holy Spirit as you teach. There is wise counsel in
D&C 4:1-7. We encourage you to read and consider it as you go
forth in this new calling. We love you and know that the Lord also loves
you. It is our privilege to do as is stated in
Mosiah 18, “to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things
and in all places. . . .”
We pray for the Lord’s blessings to be with you.
Sincerely, Kent J. Arrington Mission President
