I hate arugula

Well this week was crazy! I don't remember even why it was crazy, we just had a lot going on all the time, which is great! Lots of assignments for people to see. We visited Sister Garrett again. She is less active, we don't really know why but she has a testimony it seems like. She just is old and  overwhelmed I think with Ezekiel so she doesn't want to bring him to church. He's a great kid though. So cute. This is him!

She calls him "Z man." We had a good visit with her and ended up asking her to show us her organ playing. She just goes by ear. We did some Christmas hymns and she had me jump on the piano and play along. It was fun, she seemed really happy and uplifted when we left. I think it was just right for her.
Sister Lee took us to lunch at Black Bear Diner this week. We thought these little bears and signs were too cute.

We had two lessons with Dominik this week. He is doing great. He gets antsy at church though and gets up a lot. We'll need to talk to him about that ha. Our first lesson with him he was late, so after we finally gave up that he was coming and started leaving we biked past his neighbors, who we already know aren't interested from talking to them previously. One of them yelled at Sister Miller after I biked past, "tell your friend I think she's cute!" oy vey. I attract some keepers. Then we saw Dominik coming, so we had to bike past him again after Sister Miller told me he said that! Ack! Awkward. The second lesson we had with him I was nervous to bike past there but I figured what were the odds that guy would be out at the moment we biked past. Turns out the odds were 100% because he was there. When he saw me he said, "Oh, it's you again!" Arg. We found a different path to Dominik now. We had a lesson on missionary work and he is going to prepare to serve a mission! He's so great.

We had a sisters lunch after District Meeting and went to this place called SnoBites. It was way cool. They had this stuff called shaved snow. It's...really hard to describe. but it's basically ice cream but shaved so it's all light and interesting. I got pina colada with a scoop of strawberry ice cream on the side. It was yummy!

Since it is almost the end for Sister Miller we took funny selfies with Dominik.

At one of our dinner's this week we had a salad that was spinach, arugula, and tomatoes. That is when I discovered that I HATE arugula. You know how some people have an actual taste bud reason why they hate broccoli? I think I have that with arugula. I can think of no other explanation for why I hate it so much. There are very few foods that I actually have to choke down. I did good though and ate it all and she didn't even notice that I was struggling. But now I know that I never need to buy that ever. We added an investigator this week named Cathy. The lesson was going really well until she found out we were Mormons. Then she quickly informed us that she would never convert, that she is very Catholic. But she is willing to read things and keep meeting with us so we'll see how far she gets. The truth changes people all the time. :)

Saturday we were asked to do service at the Food Bank to prep boxes of food for the Thanksgiving handout. There were TONS of volunteers from the Rock church there. They were all in skirts, had their hair up in buns, and didn't wear any makeup. Since it was service none of us were in proselyting clothes so we felt weird. After thinking about it though I was glad we weren't in skirts because then we would've just blended in with them and only missionaries wear clothes like that all the time, not members. They were really nice. It was kind of awkward at the end though, the Food Bank people wanted a picture of all the volunteers. The picture was very divided with them in a group and us in a group, and then he said, "Rock church!" when he took the picture. Merp. One of the sisters said she was tempted to yell, "true church!" haha. That would've been bad.

Also, Donovan came to church this week! I was PUMPED. He was baptized as a kid but honestly knows nothing about the church. He's part of a primarily less active family with a bunch of foster kids we've been working with. It's a long story, but anyway we have been just really friendly with him and trying to encourage him to join lessons when we go there. He doesn't, but he did show up at church and really liked Sunday school and said he may come back. Also at church Russell Trau's son (I've mentioned him before) thanked us for checking up on his dad. He's a cool kid. How many teenager's do stuff like that? I hope we're doing some good. Anyway, love you all! Have a great week!

I haven't done a ponderize scripture in here for weeks. I'm a slacker. I just keep forgetting. Mosiah 5:2
"And they cried with one voice, saying: Yea, we believe all the words which thou hast spoken unto us; and also, we know of their surety and truth, because of the Spirit of the Lord Omnipotent, which has wrought a mighty change in us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually."
