Thursday
we met Boiser and his brother-in-law, Stephen at Arevalo(mission
office) and we drove to Antique. We had to stop on the way for Boiser
to receive an emergency call from PEF/ER. We were in the mountains and
he didn't want to get cut off. It was a little upsetting, the news
because ER is always a moving target and it isn't all set in order and
it is massive, in terms of people involved in relief. March 31 is the end of ER and that will be a blessing. We got home about 5:00 and went to McDonalds.
Friday
we went to a hardware store to get a part to fix one part of the
toilet. The part didn't fit so we went back to exchange it. Then we
went to the Center to send off my email and listen to Elder Hollands
talk recommended by Sarah. We also attempted to do some family search, I
still need help!
Saturday I felt like this: Savior, Redeemer of my soul, let my life
reflect Thy Will. Chasten my soul until I will be in perfect harmony
with Thee. Make me more worthy of Thy love and fit me for the life
above. We went to Arevalos last business class 12. They plan to put
off graduation until the certificates come from LDS Business College in
Salt Lake City. After we ate lunch and the fast begins. I love that
our mission fasts every odd Sunday,
1st, 3rd, and 5th. Then we went to LaPuz for two baptisms. It is
funny how wherever we go something seems to come up for us to assist
someone. A man came who is attending a business class but doesn't have a
book. We will deliver him one between churches tomorrow. We have a few extras of that one only.
Sunday
was church at Mandurreao, all meetings, then we took the book to LaPuz,
ate, went to San Miguel Group and then went to Leon, about an hour
drive from San Miguel, for a Group FHE at Rudy's house. Rudy's wife is
Catholic and they live with his daughter and her husband who is a
seaman. After we dropped off the missionaries and Sister Charity, the
family history consultant who attends the San Miguel Group, we went
home, 7:30.
Monday,
I'm in tears over Jonathan's death (1st Samuel) . What I hope is that
I'm always found on the Lords side, that I remember the frailty of the
worlds power: kingdoms fall and fail because of unrighteousness. Ray
and I have a kingdom of 47 right now. We must continue to look to The
Lord; preach, talk of Jesus Christ, of repentance as THE PLAN; feasting
upon the words of Christ and His prophets DAILY and pondering.
Remember, if ye do not watch yourselves and your thoughts, and your
words and deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in
faith...remember and perish not. Josiah 4:29,
30. We also did a load of wash, picked up water, shopped at SM for
sunglasses and popcorn to take to the couples conference. I made
chocolate cookies, sandwiches, and muffins to take also. We ate lunch
and then went to the Center. Jaro 2 came in to get a flash drive copy
of the videos for the sr classes.
Tuesday we left at 5:30 am to pick up Cushings at the wharf and we traveled all day. At 10:30
we arrived in Kalibo where we met Strengs and a van picked us all up to
travel to the wharf. Brother Vaughn Cagape really took care of us.
Then we took a short boat ride to Boracay and then another van jeepney
ride to the Fairways and Bluewater Hotel, where we took another van
jeepney ride to our room, the Margarita 19108. I'm exhausted.
President and Sister Aquino greeted us there. We will meet at 4:00
to have a meeting and dinner. We presented the My Path Initiative to
the whole group along with the Foundations Principles, and the books:
Starting and Growing My Business, Job Search, and Education for Better
Work. We left a set with Strengs so they can assist with the work in
their area and President Aquino wants a set.
Thursday
we walked on the beach, the sand is like white flour! The men swam in
the ocean. One, Elder Streng stepped on a sea urchin and got spines in
both feet. It was pretty painful for him. President and Sister Aquino
had to leave after we had a morning visit session on the beach. We went
swimming in the pool. That felt so great. Later we went shopping and
to eat and then we watched Meet the Mormons with popcorn in our room
with all the couples.
Thursday
we ate breakfast, each am it is a beautiful buffet that includes
breakfast, lunch, and dinner food. It is yummy. We all went down by
the pool, in the shade, a few of the couples got sunburned so they were
uncomfortable, and we played Farkle or Greed, as they call it, and
visited. Ray and I went swimming again. We ate lunch at the Clubhouse
and then went to Station 2 after a short nap and had dinner on the beach
with a full moon. It was a very romantic setting. We had many
opportunities to OYM open your mouth about the Church with our name tags
on all the time. People are from all over the world there. We talked
to people from Poland, the Ukraine, Japan, Korea, Jerusalem. They all
spoke English.
Friday
morning we had one more great breakfast, packed up, checked out, and
backwards the way we came, except we, each couple, took their own
tricycle back to the wharf. After all the travel back to Iloilo,
arriving at 4:45
at Jalandoni for an appointment to train four facilitators from Leganes
ward. These people are such lifters! They are fun to be with because
they carry the love of God with them. They are a "Zion" ward. I love
you all and pray that we will be a "Zion" family, prepared to receive
the Savior, Mom, Sister Robinson III :)
