Haha. Dear friends and family,
Don't worry, there wasn't any big disaster. But there have been a lot of little earthquakes lately. And apparently there was one that was a little bigger the other day, but we were all sleeping. But it was like 6. something. Everyone was a little freaked out here because it was pretty similar to the beginning of the last huge earthquake that happened here. Also last week there was one night where the lightning was super loud and woke everyone up all throughout the night, but none of us woke up. It's pretty funny. But it's because there's a train track that goes right by our house and our house literally shakes when it goes by. So we're already really accustomed to sleeping through things. So that's what happened.
Haha. They say that a big earthquake is coming soon, but they've been saying that for like 2 years, so I wouldn't really worry about it. :)
Anyway, this week was full of service. The bishop told us that the way to work with the members and have baptisms and reactivation and retention is through service. So almost every morning we leave and do service for some members. We clean the house, wash the car, cut wood, trim their nails, wash their dog, pull weeds, paint, build or destroy a wall, and whatever other thing that they need. So that's been really fun.
We found some really good people this week that should be able to get baptized. So we'll see what happens as we get to know them better this week.
This week in gospel principles we studied the creation. Haha. We all had a good time joking about how when God asked Adam if he had taken of the fruit, he first said, This woman that you gave me partook of the fruit and gave to me to partake. Haha. It was funny to see how quickly innocent goes to blaming anyone else for the mistakes you've made. And we do it often.
The emphasis in my own life this week has been charity, and always remembering to treat and interact with people as if they already were the best version of themselves. And what always happens, is that they become that version. And it's amazing and works every time I've done it. And that's what Christ sees and does with each and everyone of us. And why? Because He first loved us.
I love you all and hope you have an incredible week and just love up your families, this week. Also... a month until Conference!!!!!
With love,
Elder Robinson
