AW man. This week.

Hey guys!

I've get some exciting news... but I'll write about it later... haha. I love being a missionary, though! It's honestly the best! And some exciting stuff is happening this week!!! But first... My companion's name is Caleb Benjamin Newby and he's from Orem, UT. So there's that... haha. and he's super cool and he goes home at the end of December, which means that... in missionary jargon I kill him! And this is the last week of this transfer so next Monday he starts his last transfer. Whoa. Talk about seeing the end from the beginning. haha. But everything is going well. The language isn't really a block any more. Like I don't know everything, but I can talk with the people just fine. That being said, sometimes I have to ask them to explain words but I can understand the explanation! So there's that! haha.

Also... this week we challenged Daniela to live the law of Chastity and get married so she could get baptized... and... she accepted! This week we'll go to the civil register with her and her boyfriend (who is an inactive member who we're gonna finally meet today) and choose a date! That's how it works here. So the ward is planning a wedding! haha. Talk about a good way to get the ward excited about missionary work again. They're going from not having a baptism for over a year to having a wedding and three baptisms within a month! haha. It's pretty exciting! And everyone that we committed to church this week came (including some less actives we've been working with) and it was just amazing. Rain and Dubal came too and they both still have desires to be baptized and that will happen next weekend! But we're a little worried because their Dad doesn't want them to feel rushed into baptism or pressured into it. He's Evangelical, as are a lot of people here, and they're kind of scary. But he was really nice and he wouldn't ever do anything to hurt his kids, so we're not too worried. But Satan tries really hard to do whatever he can to postpone or delay or stop progression. So this week is super important and I'm not gonna be there for 2 days because of a thing called News Conference....

News Conference, or really conference of the news (new missionaries) is basically just one day of training at the mission office and the next day we get shipped off to a new area to work with a zone leader somewhere so we can see how other missionaries work.  So that's exciting. And it means free food! haha.

Also, this week the importance of the Holy Ghost has come up a lot in lessons. And if I remember correctly Joseph Smith said something really interesting about that. He was asked by some government official what made our church any different than the rest. And, of course, there were a lot of things he could have said. But all he said (more or less) was that we believe in God the Eternal Father and his son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost, and he supposed that the rest of the differences were contained in the power of the Holy Ghost. Or something like that. And it's interesting because it's really true. No other religion relies on the Holy Ghost like we do, to testify of the truth to people. And really, if we are living our lives in a way that enables us to have the Holy Ghost with us constantly, we will receive bountiful blessings. And the people we talk to and have contact with will receive some portion of God's light just by being in our company. We are the bearers of truth. We are the believers. That being said, we cannot make people do anything. But what we can do is let them see God through us. Be thou an example of the believers. Preach the gospel, if necessary, use words. I don't know who said that, but it's true. And if we are living that way, people will feel the light that you bear and be drawn to it, and then our job is easy, because we just have to explain what that light that they see is. 

Happy Thanksgiving Month! We don't get that here either... haha. but that's ok. Pray for Daniela and Dubal and Rain this week! It's so key for them. They need all the help they can get, bless their hearts. ;) haha. Love you all! Have an amazing week! We are representatives of Christ and need never fear.
