Oct. 13 & 14

We have a car. Evidently they don't want senior missionaries using public transportation.  Besides all that we travel all around the island.  We don't have what you would call a full kitchen, but we have a little stove and ocean, a 3 inch (shallow) sink, and the faucet is like your outdoor hose faucet only made of plastic.  We brought a water purifier with us so that is working great!  The hot water I miss for dishes, but the shower actually feels good because it is so warm.  Our bedroom has air conditioning only.

I am at the mission office now and looking at the address on their mail:
     President Jaime R Aquino
     Philippines Iloilo Mission
     Iloilo Mission Office
     LDS Church Osmena St.
     Arevalo,  Iloilo City
     5000 Iloilo
     Philippines

We have 3 hours to wait for our boss to get here from the boat to pick us up.  Erwin Boiser is a Church employee and he is who is suppose to give us direction, but I am afraid it is up to us to create our own mission.  It does cause some anxiety for Dad but we are gradually getting ideas of what we can do.  It is a little tricky because it is to be leadership (bishop) led.  Anyway, now we are listing all the bishops names, numbers emails etc to contact each one to see what their ward needs that we can help with ...improving their businesses, getting education for certain job improvements, learning better English.  I guess we will start teaching in 2 weeks because they wanted to be able to announce it fully.  So we will see how good a turn out we get.
One of the volunteers teaches computer skills like how to use WORD to make a letter and borders etc. and also last night he was teaching how to make a graph.  Things that I know Charity and Andrew learned in junior high or early high school.
We met a 21 year old sister yesterday who married a rm from Burley, Idaho.  He had served here on his mission, after they dated online, then he came over with his parents and they married in the Manila Temple.  They were together about 2 months and he is back in school and she is waiting for her visa.  It looks like she might get it in a month.  She is a little nervous.  They have been apart 9 months.  Wow!  We had a long conversation so she got some English practice.  I told her to go to Stokes Grocery Store when she gets there.  That the owners were related to us.  Funny huh?
We love you all, Mom
